WoW, StarCraft, chess and RuneScape,
live in your chat.

Your bot knows how the game is going. Link the site you play on and chat can ask for your rating, how tonight is running, or how the last game ended, and get a real answer seconds after the game finishes. It only ever reads games that are already over, so nobody can use your bot to get help mid-game.

Tonight's run

A scoreboard that starts when you do

Going live starts a session, and every game you finish from then on counts towards it. Chat gets the running record, the rating you have gained or lost tonight, and the streak you are on, without you typing any of it.

It stays put when your connection hiccups. A stream that briefly drops offline does not wipe the board at 7-2, and the last session stays readable after you finish, so the numbers are still there for the clip.

Every one of these is built from a variable, so the wording is yours. $(chess "Sitting on {{sessionRecord}} tonight") reads out as "Sitting on 7W 2L 1D tonight", and the same fields are available to any command you write yourself.

Chat AI

Let the AI talk about it, in your bot's own voice

Most viewers do not type commands. They ask. Turn on "Let the AI talk about your chess" and a question like "how's he doing tonight?" is answered from your real ratings and your real session, instead of the bot inventing a number to be helpful.

It is off until you switch it on, and it changes nothing about how your bot talks. Same personality, same tone, now with the scoreboard in front of it.

No command needed
LateJoiner: just got here, is he winning tonight?
BOTSkye: Seven wins, two losses, one draw so far, and he's up 18 blitz on the night. Three in a row right now, so you picked a good moment.
BoardBard: how far off 2000 is he
BOTSkye: 1843 blitz against a 2000 goal, so 157 to go. Closer than last week.
Let the AI talk about your chess
Fair play

It cannot help you win. That is the point.

Outside help during a game is cheating on chess.com, on Lichess and on OGS, and a chat bot that names the best move is outside help. So this is not a setting you remember to turn on. It is how the integration is built. RuneScape needs no such rule, because the hiscores describe what you have already done: there is no live position for a bot to leak.

It never sees a live game

Only games that have already ended are ever read, on any of the sites. There is no code path that fetches a game in progress, a position or a move list, so there is nothing for the bot to leak even by accident.

It refuses, however it is asked

No best moves, no evaluations, no score estimates, no "who's winning", no calling a group dead. That holds for positions pasted into chat, for hypotheticals, for jokes and for "just between us". It says so briefly and carries on with the conversation.

On by category, not just by account

Stream under the Chess or Go category and the rule applies whether or not you have linked an account. A guest playing on your channel is covered by it too.

Everything after the game is fine

Results, ratings, the opening you played, how an endgame usually goes, chess and Go history. The bot is only quiet about the game in front of you right now.

How it works

Three steps, then you forget about it

1

Link your account

For World of Warcraft, press Connect with Battle.net and pick your character from the list. Everywhere else, type your username. Nothing we ask for can change anything: we only ever read.

2

Go live and play

A session starts on its own. Finished games land within a minute or two, and your ratings keep updating between streams as well.

3

Pick what chat can ask

Add the commands you want, turn on the AI context if you want it, and set a rating goal to chase. All of it optional, all of it changeable later.

Questions

Before you link an account

Which ones ask me to sign in?
Guild Wars 2 needs no sign-in here at all: you make a read-only key on your own Guild Wars 2 account page and paste it in, and you choose what that key is allowed to see. Dota 2 needs no sign-in of its own either: you paste your account ID, or press a button to fill it in from a Steam account you have already connected. World of Warcraft and osu! offer a Connect button, and osu! uses it properly: you approve it on osu!'s own site and we hold that approval so your stats keep updating. We ask only to identify your account and read its public statistics, and nothing we request can change anything on your account. Everything else is a public profile we read by name, with no sign-in at all.
How does Guild Wars 2 work without signing in?
You make the key yourself. Go to account.arena.net/applications, press New Key, give it a name and tick the boxes for the things you want in chat - account, and then characters, progression, pvp and wallet if you want those. Copy the key, paste it on the Guild Wars 2 page here, and that is the link made. A key can only read, never change anything, and you can delete it on that same page at any time, which stops us reading immediately. Anything you leave unticked we never see, and the page lists exactly which of your boxes we are using.
Why is my fractal level or my gold blank?
Because the key you pasted does not cover it, which is your choice rather than a fault. Fractal level and WvW rank need the progression box, gold needs wallet, your characters and hours need characters, and your PvP rank needs pvp. The Guild Wars 2 page shows you a tick or a cross beside each one, so you can see what is missing. To add one, make a new key with that box ticked and paste it in - the old key keeps working until you delete it, so nothing breaks while you swap. We deliberately leave a field blank rather than showing a zero, because a zero would be us inventing a fact about you.
How does Dota 2 know which account is mine?
You tell it, one of two ways, and both are on the same page. You can paste the number from the end of your Dotabuff or OpenDota profile address - a full link to either works, and so does a steamcommunity.com profile link. Or, if you have connected Steam, you can press a button that fills that number in for you: a Dota 2 account ID is not a separate thing you sign up for, it is part of your Steam ID, so there is nothing to look up and no chance of a typo linking a stranger. Either way the page shows you the number before anything happens, and nothing is linked until you press Link.
Does connecting Steam switch Dota 2 on?
No. Nothing here turns itself on. Connecting Steam lets us fill your Dota 2 account ID in for you if you ask us to, and that is the whole of it - we do not start checking your games, your Dota commands stay silent and the AI is told nothing until you have linked the account yourself on the Dota 2 page. The same goes the other way: you can switch Dota 2 off again at any time and your account stays linked, it simply stops updating.
Why are my Dota 2 wins and losses blank?
Because Dota is not sharing your match history. Open Dota 2, go to Settings and then Options, and turn on "Expose Public Match Data". Until that is on, nobody outside the game can see your games - not us, not Dotabuff, not anyone - so your medal and profile will show but the win record, KDA and hero list stay empty. It is off by default on some accounts, and turning it on takes effect from your next game rather than backfilling old ones.
Is the Dota MMR number my real MMR?
No, and we say so in the command output with a tilde in front of it. Valve stopped publishing MMR to anyone outside the game years ago, so the number is OpenDota's estimate, worked out from the ranks of the other nine people in your recent games. It is usually in the right area and sometimes it is not, which is why your medal is the number to trust. The medal, the star and your Immortal leaderboard place all come straight from Valve.
Does Destiny 2 need a Bungie sign-in?
No. We read the same public profile anyone can see on Bungie.net, using an application key rather than your account, so there is nothing to authorise and no permissions to grant. If you have locked your Bungie privacy settings down, some numbers will simply be blank - that is your setting working, not a fault. Your Bungie Name includes a number, like Guardian#1234, and we need it: thousands of Guardians share a name.
Do I have to sign in to Battle.net?
Only if you want to. Pressing Connect with Battle.net lets you pick your character from a list instead of spelling a realm correctly, and it is the quickest way in. We ask for one read-only permission, we use it to read which characters are on your account, and we do not keep the sign-in afterwards. If you would rather not, type your character and realm in by hand and everything works the same. None of the other games have a sign-in at all.
Which sites can I connect?
The official Guild Wars 2 API, using a read-only key you make yourself; OpenDota for Dota 2, by account ID or from your connected Steam account; osu! for all four modes; Bungie.net for Destiny 2 on every platform; speedrun.com for whatever you run; the Blizzard Armory for World of Warcraft on EU, US, KR and TW; the StarCraft II profile site for Americas, Europe, Korea and Taiwan; chess.com and Lichess for chess; online-go.com (OGS) for Go; and the Jagex hiscores for both RuneScape 3 and Old School RuneScape, including the ironman tables. The two RuneScape games are separate links with separate commands, so you can run both in one channel without them treading on each other. You can link several at once, and for chess the bot answers with whichever site you played on most recently unless a command names one.
Why does StarCraft II ask for a URL instead of my name?
Because Blizzard do not publish a way to look a StarCraft II player up by name or battletag - there is no search to point at, for us or for anyone else. Your profile does have a fixed address though, so open it on the StarCraft II site, copy the whole thing out of the browser bar and paste it in. It ends in three numbers, like /profile/2/1/240434, and those three numbers are all we actually need. It is a one-off: once it is linked you never touch it again.
Will the bot help me during a game?
No, and there is no setting that turns that off. It never reads a game in progress, never suggests or evaluates a move, and will not say who is winning, however the question is phrased. Asking a bot for help mid-game is cheating on chess.com, on Lichess and on OGS, so the rule is always on. Finished results, ratings, openings in general and chess history are all fair game.
How quickly does something show up?
For chess and Go, within a minute or two of the game ending while you are live. Speedrun.com is different again: a run only appears once a moderator has verified it, which takes hours or days, so we check every fifteen minutes rather than every minute. RuneScape and the two Blizzard games are different again, and not our doing: Jagex and Blizzard publish their data on their own schedule rather than as you play. For World of Warcraft that usually means after you log out, and for StarCraft II it means a ladder game can take a while to show up even though we ask every minute. We check every linked account every minute while you are live, so a number appears as soon as they publish it and not before - a quiet half hour on your commands during a ladder session or a grind is their data lagging, not the bot. Accounts that are not streaming are checked every half hour in all cases.
Do chat commands get added automatically?
Never. Your settings page suggests four or five commands per game and each one waits until you press Add. Once added they are ordinary commands, so you can change the wording, cooldown and permissions on the Commands page like any other.
Can my chat look up other players?
Yes. A command built on $(chesscom name), $(lichess name) or $(ogs name) returns any player's current rating or rank, which is handy when someone in chat wants to challenge you.
Does the AI talk about my games on its own?
Only if you turn that on. "Let the AI talk about your chess" is off until you enable it. With it on, a viewer asking how the night is going gets your real session record instead of a made-up answer, in your bot's own voice.
Does it cost extra?
No. Linking a game account, the session scoreboard, the commands and the AI context are all included on every plan, the free Sapphire plan included.
Which streaming platforms does it work on?
Twitch, Kick and YouTube. The session starts from the same go-live signal the rest of your bot uses, so it follows whichever platform you stream on.
What happens to my game history if I unlink?
It is deleted with the account. Unlinking removes the stored data for that game as well, so nothing is left behind for commands or the AI to read. The two Blizzard games also expire on their own: Blizzard's API terms require anything we store from them to be refreshed or deleted within 30 days, so World of Warcraft and StarCraft II data is cleared on that schedule whether you unlink or not.
Which game is next?
Apex Legends is the newest, and there are thirteen now in all, and the same pattern fits any game with a public record of what you have done. If you play something else on stream and want it here, tell us which site keeps your results and we will look at it.
